TLC Homecare Deputy Services Manager.
I started off as a care coordinator for TLC Homecare back on 19th December 2014, a date forever etched into my memory!
I worked initially as a coordinator in the Barnsley team, managing an area of around 550 hours. This area was the Service Users that had transferred to TLC with myself and fellow care workers. Once the calls had been absorbed into their new areas within TLC, I transferred to the Rotherham Service and became coordinator of the Wath and Rawmarsh area in the March of 2015. I worked as coordinator of this area until August 2016, building up a good working relationship with both Care Workers and Service Users and their families and growing the area to over 600 hours.
In August 2016 an opportunity came up to apply for the role of Deputy Services Manager, which I did and I was lucky enough to be successful in my application.
Over a year later I am still working in that role supporting Care Coordinators and care staff, and also the Registered Manager for the whole of TLC Homecare Limited, which provides services to Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham Councils. I am currently working towards achieving my Level 5 Health and Social Care Diploma qualification – It's hard work but I am enjoying doing the qualification and learning so much from it that I can put into practice.
My advice to anyone who is ready to take the next steps in their career progression would be to take every opportunity that they can. Upskill yourself by undertaking ALL training and distance learning that is offered by the Optimocare Group. Also take advantage of the vast amount of experience and knowledge that is available within the Group to ensure that you are prepared for any promotion you may be looking to apply for.
Most of all ENJOY working for TLC Homecare, make every day count!
